Blooming Marriage Retreat

Delivered by Dr Mahera Ruby; Family Coach | Shaykh Salman Hasan; Spiritual Mentor | Dr Raihana Nasreen; Psychiatrist

Welcome to a space intentionally created for transformation.

The Blooming Marriage Retreat offers a rare opportunity to step away from the noise of everyday life and enter a sanctuary devoted entirely to your marital relationship. Here, you will pause, reset, and realign — embracing your roles as partners entrusted with a shared Amanah (trust) before Allah.

This getaway is for married couples early in their journey who:

  • Want to grow in deen together
  • Want barakah, not just compatibility
  • Want a marriage with mercy and respect
  • Refuse to repeat generational dysfunction
  • Desire emotional safety and clarity
  • Want structure in their home, not confusion
  • Want to have healthy relationships with in-laws
  • Are ready to invest in their future

If you are looking for something casual, this is not for you. If you are ready to build deliberately - welcome!

We combine three powerful streams:

  1. Grounded in Faith: Integrating Islamic spiritual values and Qur'anic principles (e.g., sakīnah, mawaddah, rahmah).
  2. Informed by Research: Using models such as Non-Violent Communication (NVC) and attachment theory.
  3. Shaped by Experience: Leveraging lived experience and professional expertise to offer non-judgmental, confidential support.

The organisers will be at the venue to welcome you.

Arrival & check-in: From 5:00pm
Dinner: 6pm
Programme begins: 7:30pm

We recommend arriving early to settle in comfortably before dinner and the start of the programme.

  • Double room
  • 3 meals
  • Access to tea and coffee throughout the day
  • Amenities at the venue

The retreat follows a carefully designed Family Formation System built around five pillars:

  1. Foundation: Iman, Identity, Values, Tazkiyya (spiritual growth)
  2. Bonding: Attachment, Trauma awareness, Communication, Emotional safety
  3. Structure: Roles, Boundaries, Discipline, Finances
  4. Leadership: Compassion, Reliability, Competence, Khidma (service)
  5. Legacy: Extended family, Culture, Children, Generational vision

Phase I: Reset & Emotional Safety (Friday)

This opening phase focuses on transition — from individuality to sacred covenant.

Key themes:

  • The Sacredness of the Home
  • Emotional Safety
  • Stress Management Models

You will begin by resetting your internal and relational state, building safety as the foundation for everything that follows.

Phase II: Bonding, Structure & Leadership (Saturday)

Islam did not leave the home unstructured, but it also did not build it on control. Saturday is about the mechanics and governance of your home.

Key themes:

  • Conflict Without Damage
  • Leadership and Roles
  • The Consultation (Shura) Model

We explore how order creates barakah and clarity creates safety. Leadership in the Muslim home is reframed as service before Allah — not ego or domination.

Phase III: Legacy & Family Vision (Sunday)

Rooted in the wisdom of Surah Al-Asr — truth (Haqq) and constancy (Sabr) — this final phase shifts your focus forward.

Key themes:

  • Growth and Development (Tarbiyah) Mindset
  • The 5 Ps of a Fulfilling Marriage
  • Marriage Vision Board

You will leave with a blueprint for your home — not just for today, but forever.

The retreat concludes with:

  • A closing circle
  • A prayer (Munajaat)
  • The Blooming Families Couples Pledge

Participants also gain exclusive access to the Blooming Families Couples Network, an ongoing community offering continued support, shared wisdom, and a safe space for development.
